There has been a flurry of new classes, lovely new people to be in them and lots of fun as well as a NEW BTWB Totnes base at The Old School Hall- the Mansion. It has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride this month for me but very exciting when I stop to think about it all.
Move it or Lose it news.

My senior exercise class and the class for people with long term health conditions remains a highlight of my week. Our Halloween fundraiser for Rowcroft was unfortunately marred by the ( lack of) storm Ciaran as classes were cancelled. The Medway group and the move Gold group at Dartington had great fun, however and we dressed up and boogied down with the Monster mash! Not to miss out, the other groups were treated to a replay of the tracks with an added Bonfire inspired “Ring of Fire” track for leg strengthening to mark November 5th this week! We raised over £80! Thank you everyone!

Move Gold
This class continues to show its participants huge changes in their CV, strength, flexibility and balance. It creeps up on you and before you know it, you are able to complete all the exercises standing, your stick is no longer required and you are able to move around with less pain. If you don’t believe me, ask
the participants!
Boxercise

Im not sure if it a new venue or winter but some of my warriors from the Thursday class have been quiet of late- I miss them! I have a great class and the venue is wonderful for our Drum n base fuelled class! I love this class- it has become a signature for my stage in life I think. I am attending the Boxercise kickboxing CPD tomorrow to add to my skill set- how very exciting! The Tuesday morning class is attracting some fab new ladies and already we are enjoying a giggle with some excellent form developing! I am currently running a 4 week taster at Bovey Tracy scout hut for BeBuckfastleigh. I love meeting new people and seeing their faces as they start on gloves and pads- such a great stress relief!

This Girl Can

We decided not to move from our venue, as we love the choir practicing next door ( we also like the timing of the class and the venue!). The class is still small but perfectly formed, with everyone making huge progress in their fitness- as well as, most importantly, re establishing their enjoyment of physical exercise. This is what This Girl Can is all about- having fun at the same time as building confidence and getting to know your strengths and exercise likes and dislikes! A couple of the class have started to come to Kettlebell blast and boxercise- Excellent!
Personal Training
I am putting this in ” class news” as the wonderful group of women-all from the same family, have been training with me for the past 8 weeks. Huge gains in fitness as well as a lot of laughs. The children have often been involved and it has been wonderful to see how they have engaged with the session. This group make me feel very lucky that I do what I do!

New classes
So I am also running Abs and Kettlebell bast- a HIIT session to give a quick blast of conditioning. It is not a totally new concept, I have taken part in classes like this before, but it is effective. The first session proved logistically challenging ( Think approx 80kg of Kettlebells and mats,1 coded door that opens with a PULL, not a PUSH, up some stairs to another one requiring light to see the code pad, opening the dark building’s sliding doors and letting the participants in with a relaxed smile just DID NOT happen!); this class has been a test of my confidence as an instructor and believer in my own abilities. I know how important strength training is for women and I really feel that this is an important class for BTWB to offer. Do come along and try it- I now pull the door and have managed to look fairly relaxed when the class walks in after a couple of weeks! The weight does not need to be heavy, you go at your own pace and laughing, as in all classes, is a mainstay!
Disney Dance -along

This class is a movement based, all singing and dancing funfest! The Halloween session was brilliant, with toddlers toddling around, dancing, running, laughing and clapping along and mums having a great laugh dancing to my Disney tracks. We had some ” Moana”, “Toy Story”, “Monster Mash”, “Heffalumps and Woozles” as well as some “move it Move it”. The highlight for me was having my lovely grandchildren come along to help and some ladies from the studio downstairs coming up to see what all the fun was about! Come along- this does not need to be booked and is only £5 a session!
So that, my BTWB friends, is a quick update. We are coming into the festive season and classes on a Tuesday evening will be moving temporarily to Thursday. I will let you all know!Don’t forget to have a go at booking in with Gymcatch- it is not as hard as it looks- I promise.
With huge hugs and thanks for making this so much fun and such a journey of self discovery too.
